What is Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is formed from the fossilized shells of diatoms (phytoplankton and algae) that accumulated in the Earth's oceans, rivers, and lakes approximately 10 million years ago. Its surface has microscopic pores (fine pores), with an average particle diameter of 0.05mm, and countless ultra-fine pores of 0.1μm to 0.2μm. These pores absorb and release moisture, providing autonomous humidity control.

Precautions for Use

Due to the nature of the material, it is very fragile, so please handle with care. Please use on a flat, stable surface without unevenness. Due to the characteristics of diatomaceous earth, a small amount of powder may come off, or limescale from moisture may appear on the surface, but this does not affect the quality. Please note that color transfer may rarely occur if rubbed or left in a wet state for a long time. Please be careful as contact with sharp objects may cause damage. Please do not drag it as it may scratch the contact surface. To prevent mold, do not use or store in a wet state for extended periods. As it is a natural material, there may be individual differences in color and shape. Please understand this in advance. Occasionally airing it in a well-ventilated place in the shade will help prevent mold. Do not dry in direct sunlight as it may cause warping. If colored liquids are absorbed, stains may remain. If it gets dirty, wash it with running water immediately and press it with a dry cloth. Do not use detergents containing surfactants as they may cause clogging. Soaking in water or hot water for a long time may cause damage. If the moisture absorption capacity decreases, lightly sand the surface with sandpaper or the like. Be careful not to over-sand, as it may chip or fade the pattern. Do not place near fire or heat sources. Use and store out of reach of infants and pets. Do not use for purposes other than the intended use. Dispose of according to the instructions of your local government.
