Steamer 2-tier: 21cm

A 2-tier steamer that is tall enough to make custards and chawanmushi. It features a distinctively thick and substantial material feel. Includes a recipe that makes it easy for steaming beginners to create dishes.

Before first use, please steam the steamer set empty. Steaming it empty removes dust and lye from the wood.

1. Boil plenty of water in a pot.
2. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium, place the empty steamer on top, and steam for about 15 minutes.
3. Rinse quickly with water to remove dust, lye, and debris. If continuing with cooking, use as is. If not using immediately, wipe thoroughly dry and store in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. For the second use onwards, use as normal.

Notes on Use

• Please steam empty before use.
• As this is a natural material, there may be individual differences in color, wood grain, and size. Thank you for your understanding.
• Please note that there may be visible imperfections such as bamboo streaks or knots, stains or spots, warping, dents, small scratches, or splinters, but these do not affect usability.
• There may be gaps between the bamboo pieces.
• The steamer may expand and contract due to steam and heat during use, causing slight changes in color, shape, and size.
• When steaming, bamboo tannins may leach out, causing the water in the pot to turn brown or lightly color the food. The bamboo tannins are safe for consumption, so please do not worry.
• Steamers are consumables and are recommended for use for approximately 1-2 years. Regardless of the number of uses or usage conditions, gaps, cracks, or splinters may occur.
• Please use a cooking sheet, steaming cloth, or leafy vegetables to line the steamer.
• Please clean promptly after use.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• Avoid using or storing in extremely hot, cold, humid locations, or in direct sunlight. This can lead to quality degradation or damage.
• Do not use or store near fire.
• Do not use for purposes other than intended.
• When disposing, please follow the disposal guidelines of your local municipality.
