Hirono Hiroshi

An Echizen lacquerware piece featuring the Ainu-style "fire" motif!

This is a collaboration between Sumio Watanabe, an artist from the Akan Lake Ainu Kotan, and "Rokurosha", a workshop in Fukui Prefecture that produces Echizen lacquerware.

On lacquerware with a foot shaped after the Ainu ritual tool "tuki", we applied Ainu patterns representing ape (the Ainu word for fire) using maki-e technique.

It is recommended as a souvenir for visitors from abroad or as a gift for those who appreciate Japanese history and traditional crafts.

This time, we offer two types: a bowl and a cup.

The bowl is suited for various soup dishes, including the traditional Ainu soup "ohaw".
Please feel free to use it daily together with the cup.
