■ Design These wide pants feature an elasticated back belt and a drawstring at the waist for easy adjustment. The design incorporates a single belt loop at the front through which the drawstring passes, ensuring it stays neatly in place. This allows for comfortable waist adjustment without the need for a belt. A distinctive feature is the pocket placed intentionally at the front, not the side. The moderately wide silhouette, which doesn't cling to the body, creates a beautiful line. While the outer appearance resembles authentic denim, the inner surface that touches the skin is made of highly absorbent linen yarn. This ensures excellent breathability and sweat absorption even in the intense heat of summer, keeping you cool and refreshed.
■ Material: Burkina Linen Denim
This cotton-linen denim uses Burkina Faso cotton, located in West Africa, for the warp (yarn that primarily affects the fabric's surface) and 100% European linen yarn for the weft (yarn that primarily affects the fabric's reverse side). It looks like denim, but the side that touches the skin is linen. Compared to regular denim (approx. 700g), it is extremely lightweight at about half the weight (approx. 350g), making it a signature caqu fabric suitable from spring to early autumn. Thanks to the soft linen-blend cotton material, these pants can be worn comfortably even in spring and summer.
■ Processing: Rinse (one-wash)
The product is washed once at a processing factory and dried in a high-heat dryer. This prevents significant shrinkage when washed at home.
■ Processing: 3years
This process aims to replicate the faded color of denim worn for a period corresponding to the color name, starting from an unprocessed state. Through the artisan's manual "all-over rubbing," the fading is pursued to be identical to genuinely worn denim, even in darker areas. Shaving (rubbing) applies makeup techniques that utilize light and shadow, meticulously calculated to make the entire body appear three-dimensional and smart, such as raising the knee position to make the lower leg appear longer.
■ Social Contribution of the Friendship Denim Series
Burkina Faso, the origin of the cotton used in Friendship Denim, is considered one of the world's poorest countries. To support the children of Burkina Faso, we donate 250 yen per pair of Friendship Denim sold, for the total number of pairs sold in a year, through the NPO Burkina Faso Friendship Association. Donations collected from various companies are used to fund national elementary schools, agricultural training centers, and wells.
