■ Material
Made from 100% cotton jersey knit, woven with two different yarn counts and knitted tightly. This prevents transparency and solves the problem of skewing that can occur with jersey knits. It features a beautiful surface and a soft texture, is durable for year-round use, and resistant to washing.
"Smile Cotton(R)"
Yarn is originally made by twisting "cotton fibers." This twist is loosened to create a soft, "cotton-like" texture, retaining the "twist set" or "fiber crimp" from when it was twisted. This creates space between the fibers that make up the yarn, achieving a cashmere-like feel, warmth, and lightness despite being cotton. It is also quick-drying, has excellent water absorption and heat retention, and has the characteristic of not becoming stiff after repeated washing.
It reduces friction and irritation against the skin, so it can be used with confidence by those with sensitive skin or atopy.
■ Design
Details such as the switching of a football shirt have been stripped away, and T-shirt details have been incorporated for a clean finish.
It features a square silhouette with equal length, width, and shoulder width,
and the characteristic dropped shoulder line of a football shirt.

The northern part of Mie Prefecture has a history of prosperous cotton yarn spinning since the Meiji era. In 1952, Katayama Meriyasu Co., Ltd., a circular knitting factory, was founded here. Since its inception, we have developed and produced various circular knitted fabrics. In an era of mass production and mass consumption, amidst price competition from overseas materials and the growing demand for synthetic fibers, the prototype of "Smile Cotton" was completed in 1973. However, at the time, commercializing Smile Cotton was not feasible due to technical and cost issues, and more importantly, "skin-friendly Smile Cotton" was not in demand. With the desire to "create a fabric with a cashmere-like feel and comfort using cotton," we repeatedly improved the technology, and by the time it was commercialized, 20 years had passed. In 1995, Smile Cotton Co., Ltd. was established. Humans have worn clothes and touched various materials since birth. Our mission at Smile Cotton is to continue creating materials that make you want to nuzzle them and smile the moment you touch them and wear them.
