■Material
Made from 100% cotton jersey, two different counts of yarn are knitted tightly. This eliminates transparency and the problem of skewing common in jersey knits. It features a beautiful surface and soft texture, is highly washable, and durable enough for year-round use.
"Smilecotton(R)"

Yarn is originally made by twisting "cotton fibers." By untwisting this twist, a soft texture like "cotton" is created, and the "twist habit," or "fiber crimp," from when it was twisted is retained. This creates space between the fibers that make up the yarn, and this space allows for a cashmere-like feel, warmth, and lightness, despite being cotton. In addition, it dries easily, has excellent water absorption and heat retention, and the fabric is less likely to harden even after repeated washing.To reduce friction and irritation to the bare skin, it can be used with peace of mind by those with sensitive skin or atopic dermatitis.

■Design

The details of a football shirt, such as the switching, have been stripped away, and T-shirt details have been incorporated for a clean finish.
It features a square form with the same length, width, and shoulder width,
and the characteristic dropped shoulder of a football shirt.

The northern part of Mie Prefecture has been a thriving center for cotton yarn spinning since the Meiji era. In 1952, Katayama Meriyasu Co., Ltd., a knitwear factory, was founded there. Since its inception, it has developed and produced various circular knit fabrics. At that time, it was an era of mass production and mass consumption. Amidst the import of competitively priced materials from overseas and the growing demand for synthetic fibers, the prototype of "smile cotton" fabric was completed in 1973. However, at that time, commercializing Smilecotton was not feasible due to technical and cost issues, and more importantly, "skin-friendly Smilecotton" was not yet needed. With the desire to "create a fabric with a cashmere-like feel and comfort using cotton," technical improvements were made countless times, and by the time it was commercialized, 20 years had passed. In 1995, Smilecotton Co., Ltd. was born. From the moment people are born, they wear clothes and live by touching many materials.
