■ Material
A fabric knitted with a tight gauge in 100% cotton jersey. It is knitted to be less transparent, with a beautiful surface, characterized by its soft texture and pleasant feel.
"Smile Cotton(R)"
Yarn is originally made by twisting "cotton fibers". This twist is reversed to create a "fluffy" soft texture, returning it to its original state while retaining the "twist memory", or "fiber crimp", from when it was twisted. This creates space between the fibers that make up the yarn, achieving a cashmere-like feel, warmth, and lightness despite being cotton. It is also quick-drying, highly absorbent, and warm, with a characteristic that the fabric does not harden easily even after repeated washing.
It reduces friction and irritation to the skin, making it safe for those with sensitive skin or atopy.
■ Design
The oversized long shirt features voluminous sleeves with generously sized armholes.
Shirring is applied only to the half of the cuffs, adding a curved element to the boxy silhouette long shirt. It also makes it easier to roll up the sleeves. The large pocket on the left chest is also a focal point.
The hem has a difference between the front and back, and side slits are added for easy styling, and it can also be worn tucked in.

The northern part of Mie Prefecture has a long history of cotton yarn spinning since the Meiji era. In 1952, Katayama Meriyasu Co., Ltd., a circular knitting factory, was founded. Since its establishment, we have developed and produced various circular knitted fabrics. In those days, it was an era of mass production and mass consumption. Amidst price competition from overseas materials and the increasing demand for synthetic fibers, the prototype of "Smile Cotton" fabric was completed in 1973. However, at that time, commercializing Smile Cotton was not feasible due to technical and cost issues, and more importantly, "Smile Cotton, which is gentle on the skin" was not yet in demand. With the desire to "create a fabric with a cashmere-like feel and comfort using cotton," we repeatedly improved the technology, and it took 20 years to bring it to market. In 1995, Smile Cotton Co., Ltd. was established. Humans wear clothes from the moment they are born and live in contact with many materials.
