This is the current intermediate zone flight jacket officially adopted by the US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
There are various specifications and variations from the earliest version before the name 45/P was given, up to MIL-J-83388A to 83388E. It was first adopted by the US Navy in 1973 and by the US Air Force in 1976.
The basic color is Sage Green, which is slightly different from the dark Olive Green common to other equipment, but in recent years, desert color models have also been adopted for localized warfare in desert areas.
