Woods Canada LTD was founded in 1885 in Ottawa, Canada, by James W. Woods.
He began selling daily necessities such as tents, sleeping bags, and clothing to loggers around Ottawa. WOODS products expanded to the West Coast with the opening of the Canadian Pacific Railway between Montreal and Vancouver.
