MANTAS EZCARAY/Mantas Ezcaray is a factory brand from Escaray, a town in the La Rioja region of northern Spain, where the textile industry has flourished for centuries. They have been manufacturing scarves, shawls, blankets, etc. by hand since the 1930s, and later incorporated mohair in the 1950s. They continue to create products by passing down traditional dyeing, weaving, and washing techniques from generation to generation. This collection is inspired by the paintings of Mark Rothko, with complex and delicate color gradations that cannot be woven with fabric for clothing. It is a product that allows you to feel the authentic craftsmanship, with each piece being brushed by hand in an era of increasing automation. Although originally a blanket, this is a custom-made stole size.
