Charles Peterson is a photographer who documented Seattle's music scene from the late 1980s into the 1990s. He began taking photographs while in high school and later studied photography at the University of Washington. His distinctive visual style and early work for Sub Pop Records became important symbols of the phenomenon known as grunge. His representative photobooks "SCREAMING LIFE" and "TOUCH ME I'M SICK" contain valuable shots of various bands that were active in the independent scene at the time.
This photo T-shirt features Kurt Cobain performing an in-store live at Seattle's Bee Hive Records during the release event for Nirvana's major-label debut album "NEVERMIND". A rare shot from before their breakthrough. Shot on September 22, 1991.
The body is crafted with meticulous attention: a 25mm neck rib, single-stitch hems on the bottom and sleeves, and single-lock stitching throughout to recreate the feel of the 1990s. The 6.2 oz fabric, knitted from 100% American cotton, is made in the USA and is a tubular body. It is then sewn and printed in Japan to create this special piece.
