Hiroshi Hirono

An elegant small plate where Japanese traditional craft and Ainu culture blend!

This is Arita ware using a design by Erika Katsuya, an artist from the Akan Lake Ainu Kotan.

The motifs inherited through generations were reimagined with a modern sensibility and dyed in indigo using the pigment called gosu by the Arita kiln "Kubota Minoru Seitosho".

With a diameter of about 12 cm, this small plate is the perfect size for side dishes such as salads and boiled greens, or for serving fruit and sweets, making it easy to use on the everyday table.

We offer three designs, including combinations of Ainu patterns and traditional Arita auspicious motifs, as a set of three. Recommended for those who love Japanese history and traditional crafts.

Notes These pieces are made using a unique handmade process, so each item has its own appearance. Please enjoy this as the individuality of the piece.
The clay raw material contains trace amounts of iron, which may cause small black specks to appear on the surface during firing. Please note this in advance.
Yori (vertical lines) or small dents that appear on the back of the product during forming are a result of the production method and are not scratches or cracks, so you can use it with confidence.
Although this is a hard ceramic product, stop using it if cracks or similar damage occur.
