Arita-yaki medium plate that showcases the delicacy of Ainu woodcarving!

This is Arita-yaki using a design by the Akanko Ainu Kotan woodcarver Masateru Saito.

"Slip-cast" is a technique where clay dissolved in water is poured into a plaster mold to form the piece.

After carving the plate's pattern in wood, the design was transferred to a mold at the Arita kiln "Yamahei-gama" and fired.

The enduring appeal lies in the beauty of the woodcarving and the subtle gradations of the glaze.

The plate, about 15 cm in diameter, is an ideal size for serving main dishes, cakes, or rolls, making it useful for everyday dining.

Recommended for those who love Japanese history and traditional crafts.

This time, we offer the slip-cast plate in two glazes—celadon and amber—as well as a two-piece set.

Remarks These items are made using a unique handmade process, so each piece has its own expression. Please enjoy this as part of the item's individuality.
The clay used as a raw material contains trace amounts of iron, so small black specks may appear on the surface during firing. Please be aware of this in advance.
Any 'yori' (vertical lines) or small dents on the back of the product that appear during forming are part of the manufacturing process and are not cracks or damage, so you can use the item with confidence.
Although this is a hard ceramic product, discontinue use if cracks or similar damage occur.
