Arita ware medium plate to enjoy the delicacy of Ainu woodcarving!

This is Arita ware using a design by Akan Lake Ainu Kotan woodcarver Kiyoshi Hikawa.

'Slip casting' is a technique where clay dissolved in water is poured into a plaster mold to form the shape.

After carving the plate's pattern in wood, the mold was taken and the piece fired at the Arita kiln 'Yamahei Kiln'.

The timeless design highlights the beauty of the woodcarving and the subtle variations in the glaze.

The plate, about 15 cm in diameter, is the ideal size for serving main dishes or for plating cakes and rolls, making it versatile for everyday table use.

This time, we have prepared a set of two slip-cast plates using two glazes: celadon and amber glaze.
Recommended for those who love Japanese history and traditional crafts.

The raw clay contains trace amounts of iron, which may cause small black spots to appear on the surface during firing. Please be aware of this in advance.
Any striations (vertical lines) or small dents on the back of the product that occur during forming are inherent to the manufacturing process and are not scratches or cracks, so you can use the product with confidence.
Although this is a hard ceramic product, stop using it if cracks or similar damage appear.
