A marriage of Kyoto crafts

This durable and supple stole is made entirely by Kyoto artisans by weaving silk yarn with threads spun from Kurotani washi that have been finely cut and twisted, using the Tango chirimen technique.

Kurotani washi, with a history of over 800 years, is finished sheet by sheet by skilled artisans using the traditional hand-made papermaking technique.

The more you wear it, the better it conforms to your skin, allowing you to enjoy its aging — a 'stole you can nurture'.
