The A-2 flight jacket is a flight jacket adopted by the US Army Air Corps in the late 1920s to early 1930s as a successor to the A-1 flight jacket. Although informally called the "bomber jacket," its original designation was "Summer Pilot Jacket." It had a wide range of uses and was worn not only by pilots but also by aircrew.
