Sweetgum Sola Cube

This plant was introduced to Japan during the Taisho era and is often planted as a street tree or in parks.
Its autumn foliage is beautiful, and it was named because its leaves closely resemble those of a maple. However, it is not actually a member of the maple family.
The spiky fruit is a collection of many small fruits. In autumn, the fruit dries and opens, releasing winged seeds that are carried by the wind.
