V-Cinema versions "Ju-on" and "Ju-on 2" will be released simultaneously in theaters on Friday, August 8!
Whether you experienced this fear before or are still unacquainted with Ju-on, the terrifying curse that cannot be erased in a lifetime will be etched into your memory.
The two films, quietly placed on rental video store shelves as VHS horror titles, spread their "fear" by word of mouth, becoming the starting point and origin of the J-horror movement. They continue to be passed down as legendary works.
For the first official theatrical release 25 years after production, both visuals and audio were fully supervised by director and screenwriter Takashi Shimizu, the "originator of the curse." This creates a new terrifying experience on the big screen and boosts the works. The films were converted to 4K masters with high-resolution, high-precision images, and the original stereo audio was evolved into 5.1ch surround with added production effects, updated to deliver a delicate yet powerful horror presentation.
