Charles Peterson is a photographer who captured the Seattle music scene from the late 80s to the 90s. He began taking photos in high school and later studied photography at the University of Washington. His distinctive visual style and early work for Sub Pop Records became important symbols of the phenomenon known as Grunge. His representative photo collections "SCREAMING LIFE" and "TOUCH ME I'M SICK" contain valuable shots of various bands active independently at the time, and the photo used on this T-shirt is one of them.
This is a photo T-shirt using the jacket photo from "SUPERFUZZ BIGMUFF," a compilation album released in 1990 by "MUDHONEY," considered a heroic figure in indie alternative and greatly influential to Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. It can be said to be Mudhoney's iconic photograph.
We are also meticulous about the body, with a 25mm wide neck rib, and the hem and sleeves are finished with skilled "tenchi-biki" (also known as blind stitch or single stitch). The sewing connecting the neck rib and armholes is also finished with single lock stitching, perfectly reproducing the body of the 90s (incidentally, most current T-shirts have double stitching for the sleeves, hem, and the sewing connecting the neck and armholes). The 6.2 oz fabric, knitted from 100% American cotton, is made in the USA and is of course tube-dyed. This is a special item sewn and printed in Japan.
