Charles Peterson is a photographer who captured the Seattle music scene from the late 80s to the 90s. He started taking photos while in high school and later studied photography at the University of Washington. His distinctive visual style and early work for Sub Pop Records became important symbols of the phenomenon known as grunge. His representative photo books, "SCREAMING LIFE" and "TOUCH ME I'M SICK," contain valuable shots of various independent bands from that era, and the photo used on this T-shirt is one of them.
This is a photo T-shirt featuring the cover art of "SUPERFUZZ BIGMUFF," a compilation album released in 1990 by MUDHONEY, a prominent indie alternative band said to have greatly influenced Kurt Cobain of NIRVANA. It's an iconic photo of Mudhoney.
The body is meticulously crafted, featuring a 25mm wide neck rib, and the hem and sleeves are finished with a skilled blind stitch (also known as single stitch). All seams connecting the neck rib and arms are also single-locked, perfectly replicating the body of T-shirts from the 90s (most current T-shirts have double stitching on the sleeves, hem, and neck/arm seams). The 6.2 oz fabric, knitted from 100% American cotton, is made in the USA and features a tubular knit construction. This special piece is then sewn and printed in Japan.
