Recycled Nylon Track Pants

I've really liked 〈プロップスストア〉 in Harajuku. What I like about it is that it has the fun of an old-fashioned candy shop. I love how daily items and Tokyo's real streetwear mix together.
And Tokyo summers are insane — so hot and humid that you stop caring about fashion. By mid-August you completely get tired of clothes and don't care. It's at those times I feel the charm of this shop. Of course winter is nice too, but their summer selection is full of attractions you won't find elsewhere.
When you go to the shop you'll see cheap mesh shorts and printed T-shirts lined up — those items that make you think yes, this is cool. The feeling of laid-backness yet seriousness is something I really like.
This jersey was inspired by 〈プロップスストア〉 that I always think of in summer. That feeling of the U.S. military jerseys they always have, and of swimwear. I usually only wear natural materials and truly thought I didn't need synthetic clothes at all, but no — midsummer is different. Nylon is nice too.
We started by making nylon shorts, and since we were at it we made a top too, but I thought long pants would be better, so we made a two-pattern set. Of course now that it's getting more humid, but from the height of summer through autumn I think I'll definitely be wearing this. (A.H)
