Linen Fisherman Pants

I saw a foreign woman on the Shinkansen platform wearing Thai pants and carrying a large backpack, and decided to make these pants. They are 100% linen. However, made as-is they would be impractical for everyday use, so we greatly changed the waist design and front construction, tapered the leg opening slightly, and kept only the overall feel. These pants are originally worn in hot, humid Thailand, so I thought they would also satisfy the easy-wearing qualities sought for summer clothing in Japan. I tried these in May, and even when sweating they stayed dry and comfortable. Linen is a natural functional material with heat retention, durability, heat dissipation, moisture absorption and quick-drying properties, usable year-round. It keeps the body warm in winter and allows excess heat to escape in summer; it absorbs moisture when you sweat and dries quickly. We used smooth 14-count linen yarn, resulting in a fine grain, firmness and body; even when you sweat the surface remains dry and it always feels fresh to wear. Relaxed pants that adapt Thai pants into an easier-to-wear specification. The front has a zipper. Both sides and the back crotch use triple-needle stitching. The back of the waist features elastic shirring but includes a drawstring, so they are beltless. The side pockets have blue bartack reinforcements. Slightly shorter 9/10 length, perfect with classic sandals.
