Linen Tailored Jacket

I like clothes that have been washed repeatedly and have developed a nice wrinkle. So, even when wearing a suit, unless it's very formal, I machine wash it vigorously. In winter, I like sturdy wool that has been washed until it's felted, like a coat, and for spring/summer, my ideal is cotton or linen that has been thoroughly washed until it's nicely wrinkled. Especially linen, as the more you wash it, the better its texture becomes, so I wanted to make it with a nice thick fabric for spring/summer. This one is made from 100% thick #8 linen yarn, produced by a spinning method called semi-wet spinning. This method, which has a long history in linen spinning, is said to maximize the rustic feel characteristic of thick yarns and the texture of this material. By weaving thick threads in a twill pattern, a thick and rugged atmosphere is created, and special tumbler processing adds wrinkles and softness. The inside of the left front features a large pocket. You can carry ZINEs, as well as PCs and A4-sized documents, allowing you to go out hands-free.
The factory that produces this is located in the Koto region of Shiga Prefecture. There is abundant groundwater flowing from the Suzuka Mountains, with water gushing out at about 15°C throughout the year, and they reportedly use this water. The factory uses large amounts of water in various processes, and the used water flows into rivers and then into Lake Biwa. However, Shiga Prefecture has some of the strictest wastewater standards in Japan, so they purify wastewater using bacteria. They manage these bacteria 365 days a year at the treatment facility, cleaning polluted water and returning it to nature, working towards the sustainable use of water resources. Additionally, some wastewater is treated at public wastewater treatment plants.
