An Edo folding fan with an impressive three crescent moons in gold leaf on black Japanese paper.

The three crescent moons were printed using the Karakami technique, which involves hand-printing patterns from woodblocks onto handmade Japanese paper.

For Japanese people, the "moon" is a symbol of identity.

We chose it because it evokes a sense of familiarity and special emotion.

The Japanese paper is an original from 'Keibifugetsu', created from scratch by Yuko Tanino, who presides over "Tesuki Washi Tanino".

Fossil coral, said to have antibacterial properties, is enclosed, and the paper is dyed black using sumi ink.

The fan was crafted by Yoshiko Fukatsu, the 5th generation owner of Unkindo Fukatsu Sensuten, which inherits the tradition of Edo folding fans.

This fan is imbued with the vitality of nature and the soul of the craftsman.

We hope you will hold it in your hands and feel its power.

Comes with a case made of Tango chirimen fabric with a moon surface pattern.

It will be delivered in a "Azekura box" made of paulownia wood.

The "seme", inspired by mizuhiki, is to prevent the fan from opening unintentionally.
