An Edo folding fan with an impressive silver leaf full moon on black Japanese paper.

The full moon was printed using the Karakami technique, where patterns are hand-printed from woodblocks onto handmade Japanese paper.

For Japanese people, the "moon" is a symbol of identity.

We chose it because it evokes familiarity and special emotions.

The Japanese paper is an original creation by "Keibifuugetsu," made from scratch by Yuko Tanino, who presides over "Handmade Washi Tanino."

It incorporates fossil coral, said to have antibacterial properties, and is dyed black using sumi ink.

The fan was crafted by Keiko Fukatsu, the 5th generation owner of Kinkindo Fukatsu Sensuten, which inherits the tradition of Edo folding fans.

This fan is imbued with the vitality of nature and the soul of artisans.

We hope you will hold it in your hands and feel its power.

Comes with a case featuring a moon surface pattern on Tango chirimen fabric.

It will be delivered in a "Azekura box" made of paulownia wood.

The "seme," inspired by mizuhiki, is used to prevent the fan from opening unintentionally.
