I am Fukatsu, one of only two remaining Edo folding fan craftsmen.

This is a folding fan made using "real soot bamboo," which is now considered a phantom material.

Real soot bamboo is bamboo used for thatched roofs that has been smoked by the smoke from an irori (sunken hearth) for 100-200 years, changing its color to amber. Despite being light, it is extremely durable, resistant to deformation, and its unique luster is very attractive.

It is truly a masterpiece that can be cherished for a lifetime. Since it is a one-of-a-kind item, please purchase it early if you find one you like.
