The two-piece set of yunomi tea cups features a beautiful contrast between a blue glaze that evokes the sky and sea and a crimson glaze.

The blue glaze flows on the exterior, imparting character to the katakuchi.

The flowing pattern of blue glaze on the exterior adds variation to the bowl.

I make my own natural ash glazes by turning sunflowers I personally grew into ash and mixing it with ashes from burned grapes, sunflowers, figs, and other materials.

These days, few ceramists make glazes from ash themselves, but because it has an important effect on color development, we are particular about this process.
